Note! A network license is downloaded to and served by a CLC Network License Manager/CLC License Server. It cannot be downloaded directly to a Workbench.

To use a network license, first install the CLC Network License Manager/CLC License Server and download a license file. Once the CLC License Server service is up and running, your Workbenches will need to connect to it, to get a license.

You can download the CLC Network License Manager here: https://digitalinsights.qiagen.com/products/clc-network-license-manager-direct-download/ .

The CLC Network License Manager/CLC License Server software would be installed on a machine that is not turned off and is accessible by all the machines that will run the Workbench software. Normally the CLC Network License Manager/CLC License Server is run as service.

Please refer to the CLC Network License Manager/CLC License Server manual for information on how to install and configure this software:
http://resources.qiagenbioinformatics.com/manuals/clclicenseserver/current/index.php?manual=Introduction.html

Instructions for how to download a license is found in the same manual. When downloading your license, you will be asked for a License Order ID. Please copy this from your MyCLC account.

Once your CLC Network License Manager/CLC License Server is up and running, with the license downloaded, the Workbenches of all users, who will be using the network license, need to be configured to connect to the CLC Network License Manager/CLC License Server to get a license. Information on how to configure the connection between Main Workbench and license server can be found in in our manual:

http://resources.qiagenbioinformatics.com/manuals/clcmainworkbench/current/index.php?manual=Configure_license_server_connection.html

The process is identical for other Workbenches. Please make sure to run the Workbench as an administrative user when making changes to the Workbench license information.
